This policy explains how PMNBuzz.com, a PRIME MEDIA NETWORK brand (“PMNBuzz”, “we” or “us”), handles personal information when you read our website, contact us or use an account, community feature or optional subscription. For privacy enquiries, contact [email protected] or use our Contact Us page.
Information we receive
Information you choose to provide can include your name, email address, account/profile details, comments, messages and subscription choices. Do not include sensitive information about yourself or another person in public comments or community posts. Depending on how you use the website, technical information can include an IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, approximate location inferred from an IP address, referral information, cookie identifiers and security logs.
When you choose social sign-in, the sign-in provider authenticates you and may share information allowed by the permissions shown, such as your name, email address and account identifier. PMNBuzz does not ask for the password of your Google or other social account. You can review or revoke the provider’s connection in that provider’s account settings.
Why we use information
We use information to deliver pages and media; operate accounts and community features; respond to enquiries; moderate comments; protect the website from abuse, spam and unauthorised access; understand site performance and audience use; and provide subscriptions or notifications you request. Where advertising is enabled, information may also support ad delivery, measurement and personalisation subject to applicable consent choices.
Where a legal basis is required, the applicable basis depends on the activity: providing a service you request, consent for optional processing where required, legitimate interests in proportionate site operation and security, or a legal obligation. You may withdraw consent for future consent-based processing without affecting processing lawfully carried out before withdrawal. We do not use this statement to override a legal requirement for consent.
Cookies, local storage and similar technologies
WordPress and our service providers may use cookies, browser storage or similar technologies for login sessions, security, preferences, performance, analytics and optional features. Session storage and longer-lived storage serve different purposes. Our Cookie Policy explains categories and the choices available to you. A browser notification permission is separate from cookie or advertising consent.
Google advertising and third-party vendors
When Google advertising is displayed, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s previous visits to this website or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies can enable Google and its partners to serve personalised ads based on visits to PMNBuzz and/or other sites on the Internet. The availability of personalisation depends on consent, location and the advertising configuration.
You can manage Google’s personalised advertising through My Ad Center. You may also visit AboutAds choices to learn about participating vendors’ interest-based advertising choices. These tools are separate from choices made in a site’s consent message; changing one does not necessarily change every vendor’s preferences. Learn how Google uses information from partner websites in Google’s partner-sites explanation and Google’s Privacy Policy.
Where required for ads, the site must obtain and respect appropriate consent through the applicable consent-management process. Advertising features described here may not be active at every time or for every visitor. This disclosure does not mean that advertising consent is required to read an article.
Comments, messages and community content
Comments and community content you publish may be visible to other readers, together with the name and profile information you choose to display. Moderation and anti-spam systems may inspect submissions and associated technical information. When an avatar service such as Gravatar is used, a hash derived from an email address may be sent to that service to check for an avatar; see Automattic’s privacy information.
Contact-form messages are used to handle your enquiry and are sent to the site’s contact mailbox. Do not send passwords, payment-card details, identity documents or confidential medical or financial records through general enquiries. A private enquiry is not permission for us to publish your message as an article.
Subscriptions and push notifications
If you opt into browser push notifications, a browser/device subscription identifier or token and your notification choices may be processed to deliver notifications. Our notification tools can use Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can revoke notifications in your browser or device settings; clearing cookies alone may not revoke the notification permission. Email subscriptions, where offered, provide their own unsubscribe mechanism.
Providers, media delivery and external websites
We use service providers to operate the site, including hosting, WordPress-related services, Jetpack/Automattic, Cloudflare R2 media storage and delivery, Google services such as Site Kit and Firebase where configured, login/security tools and anti-spam systems. They may process information necessary for their services. Requesting an image from our media domain or Jetpack’s image CDN can disclose normal network information, such as your IP address, to the delivery provider.
Providers’ own information includes Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy, Automattic’s Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy and security information. Clicking an external link takes you to a separately operated website. Embedded content, such as a video or social post, may process data under its provider’s policies, particularly if you are already signed into that service. We do not control other websites’ privacy practices.
Sharing and international processing
We share information with providers as needed for the described functions, with authorities where lawfully required, or where necessary to address abuse, protect rights or administer a lawful organisational change. We do not sell private contact-form messages or account passwords. Advertising technologies may involve data sharing under their own terms and applicable law.
Some providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside your country. Applicable transfer requirements and safeguards depend on the service and relevant law. Contact us if you need information about a particular processing activity; this policy does not assert that every country offers identical protection.
Retention and security
We retain information for the purpose for which it is needed, taking account of account operation, unresolved enquiries, security, legal requirements and legitimate record-keeping. Public comments can remain with the article until removed or otherwise moderated. Account information can remain while an account exists. Backup copies and provider logs may persist for their applicable retention cycles after a removal request; information may be retained where legally required.
We use reasonable organisational and technical safeguards, but no website, email or storage system is guaranteed secure. Use a strong account password, protect your connected social accounts and tell us if you suspect misuse. We do not publish a universal deletion period where actual requirements and provider settings differ.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the law that applies, you may be entitled to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of certain information; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and complain to a relevant data-protection authority. Rights can have exceptions, including lawful retention and other people’s rights. Contact [email protected] with the request and enough information to identify the relevant account or enquiry. We may need proportionate verification, but do not send identity documents unless we explain a necessary secure process.
Where Nigerian data-protection law applies, the relevant supervisory authority is the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. Where other laws apply, you can contact the appropriate authority in your jurisdiction. We do not represent a privacy-policy page as a regulatory certification.
Children and changes to this policy
The site is not designed to collect personal information from children who are below the age at which they can lawfully consent to the relevant processing. If you believe a child has supplied information inappropriately, contact us so we can review it. We may update this policy when site features, providers or requirements change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision.
