Sami Zayn retained his championship and Becky Lynch recorded a disqualification victory on the October 26, 2026 edition of WWE Raw in Fresno. Yet neither headline captures how deliberately the episode kept its central arguments open. Interference shaped the men’s title match, while the women’s main event ended before a decisive sporting finish could settle the rivalry.

The result was an episode built around interrupted opportunities: a challenger distracted, a Money in the Bank attempt stopped, and a championship confrontation overtaken by an outside attack. Within WWE’s scripted competition, those choices preserve reasons for the characters to demand another meeting.

Zayn survives, but the argument continues

WWE’s official recap says Penta approached with his Money in the Bank contract during Zayn’s defence against Je’Von Evans. Bron Breakker attacked Penta; Evans intervened, and Zayn capitalised on the distraction with a Helluva Kick. Breakker and Bronson Reed attacked Penta and Evans afterwards.

That sequence gives each participant a different claim on the story. Zayn can point to the result. Evans can point to the circumstances. Penta can point to an opportunity prevented before it became a completed cash-in. Breakker and Reed have made themselves relevant without needing to win the championship match themselves.

The distinction between an attempted cash-in and an actual match is especially important here. Penta’s appearance creates suspense, but it should not be described as a failed championship challenge merely because the interruption kept him from proceeding. The story preserves the threat attached to the contract as well as his grievance against the men who stopped him.

This is also why a clip of the finishing move can tell an incomplete story. The result and the route to the result serve different purposes. One settles what goes into the record; the other supplies the motive for the next confrontation.

Lynch wins without a championship resolution

In the women’s main event, WWE reports that The Judgment Day attacked while Lynch had Liv Morgan in the Dis-arm-her, causing the disqualification. Chelsea Green and IYO SKY subsequently intervened. Tiffany Stratton then approached with her Money in the Bank opportunity, but Dominik Mysterio helped Morgan escape before a cash-in could take place.

The independent Bodyslam results summary likewise records Lynch’s victory by disqualification. It does not record a title change. Those are separate outcomes, and keeping them separate prevents the result from sounding more conclusive than the programme presented it.

From a storytelling perspective, Morgan leaving with the title keeps her allies central to the championship picture. Lynch has a win to cite and an unresolved complaint. Stratton’s arrival adds another source of pressure: the champion cannot concentrate entirely on the opponent standing directly in front of her.

Three other results broaden the fallout

Bodyslam also records Bayley’s victory over Lyra Valkyria in a No Disqualification match, IYO SKY’s win over Raquel Rodriguez, and Ethan Page and Big Cass defeating Chad Gable and Dragon Lee. These outcomes give the episode more than one route forward; its consequences are not confined to the two headline championships.

The contrast between Bayley’s match stipulation and Lynch’s finish is part of the episode’s structure. A No Disqualification match permits conduct that would bring a conventional contest to an early end. The same broad language of chaos can therefore produce a decisive winner in one setting and an unresolved dispute in another.

SKY’s involvement across separate parts of the programme also connects stories that could otherwise remain isolated. A wrestler can leave one contest with momentum and enter another confrontation as an ally, rival or potential challenger. That movement is one of weekly television’s advantages: a result can acquire new meaning before the episode is over.

What the next chapter needs to address

The strongest follow-up questions are specific. Can Evans get another opportunity without the same interference? How will Penta respond to the men who prevented him using his contract? What does Lynch’s disqualification win earn her in practical terms? And how does Morgan account for another escape that leaves several opponents with unfinished business?

Those are questions raised by the October 26 presentation, not announcements of future matches. WWE’s subsequent booking will determine which disputes receive immediate attention and which are allowed to develop over several episodes.

For anyone returning after PMNBuzz’s earlier Fresno event preview, the change is now clear: the show has taken place and the results are available. Its main championships survived the evening, but the challengers’ arguments survived with them. That combination gives Raw plenty of conflict to carry into its next instalment without pretending that Monday’s finishes settled every issue.
